Whole Foods – The Millworks

Maximizing the square footage of this mixed-use center didn’t leave any room for traditional bioretention facilities, so the design instead incorporated tree boxes along the street and rooftop gardens. The tree boxes are similarly designed to bioretention facilities in that the runoff enters the tree box and infiltrates through the soil media within the tree box to filter out pollutants.
